Install Multi-Fixed Handles - Back to Back


These instructions are suited to any back to back set with multiple fixing points such as square & rectangular handles.

Fittings
Joinery & door handles are supplied with all fittings required for fixing the handles to the door. Included in this set are:

  • Metal threaded inserts prefixed in rear of one handle
  •  2 Screws for each insert
  •  2 Timber cover buttons or plugs 

Safety

  • Always follow the manufacturer’s safety instructions when using power tools and adhesives
  • Wear safety glasses throughout the installation

Step 1: Set up
You will need

  • 4-12mm drill depending upon the size of the fitting
  • Allen key
  • Safety glasses
  • Handle set and fittings

Step 2: Prepare the door
a) Measure the distance between each of the fittings. This is taken from the centre of the top fitting to the centre of the bottom fitting. 
b) Locate and mark the top position for the handles on the door. 
c) Mark the position for the bottom fitting according to the measurement taken in a).
d) Drill 4-12mm holes through door at the points marked out above

Step 3: Prepare the handle fitting
Select the handle with the holes right through i.e. without the metal inserts. (This will be the rear handle). Insert the screws right through the holes in the handles. 

 Step 4: Install
a) Holding the handle pass the screws through the predrilled holes in the door.
b) Wind the top screw into the second handle which will be on the other side of the door. Ensure it is properly aligned with the threaded insert.
c) Repeat the same with the bottom screw.
d) Tighten the screws with the Allen key, beginning with the top fitting.
e) Press the cover plugs into place to conceal the fitting holes on the rear handle.
