Auburn Woodturning has been providing professional builders, furniture makers, antique restorers and heritage home enthusiasts with traditional and custom made products since 1947. A small family business that was long a part of Hawthorn’s history 'the woodturners' has survived the mechanised age of mass production and is still making small quantity timber products by hand.

Now located in Northcote it is owned and operated by husband and wife Steve and Kerry Curtain. The 'woodturners' has kept the warm earthy feel of the past which you will experience when stepping into the workshop. The smell of freshly turned timber, scattered wood chips, and the hum of old motors will give you the feeling that you have stepped back in time. Virtually unchanged in over sixty years Auburn Woodturning uses the original lathes and hand chisels to craft timber to your exact needs.
